Our October Gold expedition can be done as either your practice or your qualifying (AKA assessed) expedition. It takes place in the Yorkshire Dales and you can expect to be journeying and camping in classic Dales terrain.
Starts: 14:30 (basecamp in Skipton).
Nearest train station: Skipton (20 minute walk/short taxi journey).
Ends: 16:00 at Ribblehead Train Station.

When you arrive at the basecamp you will meet your Supervisor and the rest of your team mates, and will plan your expedition route with them. Your supervisor will go through the various pre-expedition checks with you and make sure that everyone is ready for the following morning. The team will cook an evening meal on camp stoves and will then camp overnight at the basecamp before the expedition begins in the morning.
You will need to bring your own food for the duration of the expedition, as well as for your evening meal and breakfast before setting off.
On this expedition the longest day will require walking a minimum of 19 kms. If you have any questions or concerns about this please do let us know. We aim to provide a range of expedition types, and where possible will modify expeditions to meet differing requirements.
This expedition includes no training. If you are doing this expedition as your practice you will first need to have completed your gold expedition training. If you are doing this as your qualifier, you will need to have first completed your practice expedition.
