Walking Holiday Testimonials
This was our second Lupine holiday. We really enjoyed the first one and knew there was always the chance another won’t meet our expectations, but there was no need to be concerned, it surpassed it! Wonderful vegan food, home-baked and fresh. Great walks, to suit our wishes and all transport provided. It was an amazing week and we will certainly be looking out for your next one! Thanks Lupine.
Thank you Andy and Ben for a perfect holiday. I felt like I was with friends. The walking was my kind of walking – dramatic landscapes and challenging days, but not crazy! The house was cosy and comfortable and even though I am not a vegan, I enjoyed trying out delicious vegan food. I also enjoyed having a laugh and I’d definitely come again – please do it again next year!
I had another fantastic week in Skye and came home feeling really relaxed. The scenery there is stunning and dramatic and the walks are enjoyable and challenging. The Lupine crew are really friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Food and accommodation both excellent.
Lake District 2011
The week that we spent in the Lake District was probably the best holiday that we've ever had in England! The house in Keswick was perfect - plenty of room for the number of us that there was. Andy and Ben looked after us there so well - freshly baked (by them!) bread and cakes every morning, and fantastic food every evening - and plenty of it too!! If anyone doubts that vegetarians and vegans can eat well, then if they came on a holiday with these guys they would leave those doubts behind...
We saw a lot more of the lakes than we would have done ourselves, and both Andy and Ben were great company - always full of anecdotes! It was great that there were 2 of them on the holiday as it meant that the group could be split if some of us decided (which we often did!) that we wanted more of a challenge.
We are almost certainly going to come to the Skye holiday next year.
"Like many people, I fell in love with Skye on my first visit and was keen to get back there this year. A walking holiday seemed the perfect answer – a way to bring together a personal interest with the chance to explore more of the island. After rejecting everything I’d found on the internet as too costly, too corporate or just too crowded, the subtle search combination of “walking+Isle of Skye+vegetarian” brought up Lupine.
Well, they may just be the internet’s best kept holiday secret. What makes them different is their bespoke approach and attention to detail. By keeping the group small and the guest-to-leader ratio low, the trips feel personal in a way I think few bigger companies could match. From the flexible pick-ups en route, through the careful nightly planning of alternative walks to account for different expectations and experience, to our second twenty five-mile round trip to watch the otters in Portree harbour, the leaders were always careful to respond to the wishes of each guest - which meant that we could enjoy all the social benefits of a group holiday, but still feel like individuals. No mean feat, managing all that for a group of disparate strangers!
And the cooking? What can you say about freshly baked bread every morning, home-made vegan cakes and Andy’s award-winning sausage and ale pie? Put it this way – the food was almost as good as my mum’s.
Spectacular scenery, fabulous food & good company - all told, definitely the best group holiday I’ve been on so far and proof that small can indeed be beautiful. I’d recommend them to everyone – if it didn’t mean missing out next year..."
The holiday on the Isle of Skye was magical. It was so relaxing to have the day planned for you plus having the choice of how challenged you wanted to be each day. The food was lovely and plentiful and it was altogether a memorable holiday.
Anne GoldsburyWhat Anne hasn't mentioned is that this was her and her feller's, first time on Skye but they liked it so much that 4 months later they are moving into their new home there. Andy
