News Update fromLupine Adventure Co-operativeDecember 2009
|
|
Dear All Welcome to the first news update from Lupine Adventure. We have taken the e-mail addresses from past customers, people who have e-mailed us and people who have visited us at various trade shows throughout the year to create this e-mail list. We hope to send out a quarterly bulletin in future to keep you up-to-date with new events, services and offers. If you would like to be removed the please don't hesitate to ask and we will happily oblige. Skye Walking Holiday 15-22 May 2010
For this years holiday we have moved from Torrin to a cottage which is run by the Sligachan Hotel, right on the doorstep of the Cullins. There is a £100 discount if you book before the end of January 2010 but please don't wait as while there are 5 places left there are 6 people who have expressed a firm interest and a further 3 or 4 who we have spoken to and are considering it. In fact, as we are expecting a full house we will be investigating the Cairngorms later in the year with a view to running both a Skye and a Cairngorm trip in 2011.

Bookings are going well. There is a maximum of 8 places this year and we have taken 3 deposits (which is our minimum running number) so this holiday is definitely going ahead.
We are able to offer guided winter walks and winter skills courses in both North Wales and the Glen Coe / Ben Nevis area of the west coast of Scotland this year. We will be in Scotland between 11th - 30th January 2010 so please get in touch to book a day or two of guided winter walking or winter skills training. For the rest of the winter you can book us for winter skills and guided winter walking in Snowdonia, North Wales. Take a look at our
We are running three, YES three welsh 15 peaks challenges in 2010. Two for VIVA and one Vegan only event for the
We will be running a number of weekends throughout the summer to help raise money for various charities. We are still working on the finer points but take a look at our web site in the New Year for more details.
Pete took the Summer off to concentrate on gaining the (MIA). He succeeded in early September during a week long assessment in horrific weather. This now means that Lupine Adventure we are able to offer
In May we became one of the first dozen Approved Activity Providers for the expeditions section of The Award in the country. We helped a number of young people complete their expedition. Some we trained, some we trained and supervised their expedition and some we simply supervised their expedition. In October Andy became an accredited assessor so he can now assess groups on their expeditions. 2010 is already shaping up to be a busy year for Lupine Adventure with Duke of Edinburgh's Award work. The popular dates in the Easter and Half term holidays are filling up so if you are looking to do an Award or wish to hire us for your school, youth group or local authority then please do get in touch soon so as to not be disappointed.
Cat also gained the MIA during the same assessment with Pete but has decided to leave the co-operative. Cat has been completely invaluable during the first two years of the business. She has managed to do this while holding down another Job with Mountain Leader Training England and attaining the MIA Award. We will still be seeing lots of her and I'm sure she will be working alongside us and Pete in particular in North Wales whenever extra hands are needed. We'd like to thank her for all the work she has put in for little (financial) reward during the first two years of the co-operative. We are in your debt.
