Lupine Adventure are committed to helping schools, local authorities, youth groups and young offenders support organisations provide the Duke of Edinburgh Award to the young people that they serve.

Some of our members have been working with Leeds City Council Youth Service on the Open Award for a number of years. In that time we have noticed that a number of schools and youth groups do not offer The Award due to the difficulties experienced in providing the expedition part of The Award. This problem is particularly prevalent when the young people want to take part at the Silver and Gold Levels. It is a requirement at this level for the participants to venture, relatively un-supervised, into wild or remote country.
Many organisations lack the members of staff who are adequately qualified and experienced to supervise these expeditions to an acceptable degree of safety. It is extremely unfortunate when those who have completed the Bronze Award are then prevented from continuing on the achievement path due to a lack of skills or funding within their school or youth group.

Lupine Adventure Co-operative is a not for profit, Social Enterprise made up of qualified Mountain Leaders and Youth Workers. We are able to run the whole expedition part of The Award for your organisation or simply help with the training. We have a pool of equipment that can be used by the participants and can even help the young people or your organisation apply for the funding to pay for it if your budget does not stretch.
