Ed is based in the Yorkshire Dales and is a keen mountaineer, fell runner, climber and caver.
Ed’s experiences of the ‘outdoors’ goes back to when he was a youngster when he explored many of Britain’s mountainous areas with his parents. This apprenticeship of the outdoors as a youngster has developed Ed into an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for outdoor adventure that he loves to share with others.
In terms of outdoor qualifications Ed currently holds the Winter Mountain Leader Award, Summer Mountain Leader Award and Single Pitch Award. These awards qualify Ed to instruct winter and summer hillwalking, winter skills and climbing within the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales. Ed is currently working towards his Mountaineering Instructor Award certificate.
Ed is also a member of his local Mountain and Cave Rescue Team - UWFRA, where he enjoys working as a member of a team helping people in need above and below ground.
Travel wise Ed takes every opportunity he can to get away and explore new places. Having climbed extensively in the European Alps Ed has also been further afield to places such as Sri Lanka, Norway, Peru and Greenland.
When not out enjoying himself in the outdoors Ed tries to live as sustainable life as possible, heating his house on wood fuel, keeping hens in the back yard and cultivating a small allotment.
